After 15 years, in 1961, Cathy discovered how to cook chicken sandwiches with a pressure fryer, after which he named the company Chick-fil-A, Inc.

In September 1994, this fast food chain opened its first Chick-fil-A restaurant outside the USA in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, for the first time. However, this restaurant did not perform well, leading to its closure within 2 years.
After 20 years, in May 2014, the company opened an outlet in Calgary, Canada, although this restaurant also had to close in 2019.
A restaurant opened on September 6, 2019, in Toronto, Ontario. As of now, there are a total of 6 Chick-fil-A restaurants providing service in Canada.
