History Of Dunkin’
Bill Rosenberg had a lot of experience selling food in factories & construction sites. So in 1948, Bill started a restaurant named ‘Open Kettle’ in Quincy, Massachusetts, which sold donuts and coffee.
Although this work was going very well for him, he changed the name of this restaurant to Dunkin’ Donuts in 1950.
After 5 years of this, in 1955 itself, the company started expanding to other locations.
In 1963 Bill resigned as CEO. And his son Bob became the CEO of the company at the age of 25. In the same year, the company opened Dunkin’ Donuts at the hundredth location.
After this, many changes were made in the menu of Dunkin’. Local interest was also added at different locations.
The company’s expansion increased when it bought two rival chains Mister Donut and Dawn Donuts. Due to this, by 1998, the company had successfully opened stores at 2500 locations.
At present, more than 11,300 Dunkin’ restaurants are providing their service worldwide, out of which more than 8,500 restaurants are serving in the United States and 32,000 restaurants in 36 countries.
