Wendy’s in the Philippines
Wendy’s opened its first restaurant in the Philippines on December 8, 1983, by Wenphil Corporation, Philippine franchisee of Wendy’s.
Entry for this company in the country was not going to be so easy as two giant hamburger fast food restaurant chains were already dominating here. Wendy’s was started 54 years ago on November 15, 1969 by Dave Thomas. He named this after the nickname of his daughter Melinda Lou Thomas. Her siblings used to call her Wendy. The picture in Wendy’s logo is inspired by her daughter.
Deve started his first Wendy’s Restaurant from Columbus, Ohio, USA.
In August 1972, Wendy’s started the franchisee program. After this, the expansion of this fast food restaurant company took place all over America. In 1976, Wendy’s opened the first restaurant in Canada.
This restaurant chain opened its 500th restaurant in Toronto and 1000th Store in Springfield, Tennessee in December 1976.
At present, Wendy’s is providing its service at more than 7000 locations worldwide. At present, it is the world’s third-largest hamburger fast-food chain.
