About 11 years ago, in 2011, John Conception thought of opening a Japanese restaurant in the Philippines because many Filipinos have a strong interest in Japanese culture. Yabu Bestseller Food Items
You are experiencing Japanese flavors in the Philippines—what could be more exciting than that? Although all the food items are good, here are some dishes that are the bestsellers on Yabu’s menu.
Rosu Pork Loin – This is one of the bestselling dishes from this restaurant, served with unlimited Japanese white rice, pickles, and miso soup. It includes unlimited cabbage with fruits and sesame in a bowl. It features a 3- to 4-inch thick, juicy premium pork cutlet that is very soft and delicious to eat.
Yabu’s Gyudon – For under 500 Philippine Pesos, this dish is served in a hot stone pot. Gyudon is made by mixing grilled U.S. beef belly with honey soy sauce and sautéed onions. Then, a bed of Japanese white rice is prepared and topped with a poached egg.

Katsu, or Katsuretsu, is a traditional Japanese dish where a piece of meat cutlet is coated in breadcrumbs or panko and then deep-fried. Generally, Katsu is served with Japanese rice, shredded cabbage, and miso soup.
There are many varieties of Katsuretsu available, made with beef, chicken, or seafood. Beef is typically used to make traditional Japanese Katsu, which is called Tonkatsu.
