Hardee’s Restaurant was opened by Wilber Hardee on September 3, 1960 in Greenville, North Carolina.
At that time the menu included 15-cent hamburgers, 20-cent cheeseburger, 10-cent fries, 10-cent coffee, and 20-cent milkshakes.
By 1970, Hardee’s had opened more than 200 restaurants in the Midwest and Southwest, as well as its first international locations in West Germany.
